YIKES! I BLINKED ... NOW JANUARY'S OVER AND I'M STILL NOT ORGANIZED! HELP!

(Shoe Dreams)

GET ORGANIZED NOW!
iCafe Woman Moderne Will Show You How.

Don't Panic!  We get it.  Your number one New Year's Resolution was to get organized.

You blew that horn at midnight on New Year's Day ...and blinked.   Now February 1st is three days away and you're closer to winning the Lottery than getting organized.

Not to worry, we've put our organization cyber-sleuth on the case.   Consider it our first of the year gift from iCafe Woman Moderne to you.

Miracles and Blessings... Kiki here... I'd like to introduce this week's text-webisode host ...Dominique Atelier.

By day, she's a senior booker for D&D Models Inc. ... and by night, she's our cyber-sleauth, uncovering new trends, great deals and tips to make your life heck of a lot easier. You'll find out more about D&D Models, Inc. in a future text webisode.

KIKI
Using her Tiffany & Company-inspired laptop, (DIY instructions from Kylie on the above video) Dominique surfed the web and found THREE super easy and quick tips to help get you organized in three days or a weekend.

You'll probably have to make a trip to your favorite store and put in a few nails or screws.  But hey, what's a few sacrifices for an organized bedroom, kitchen or home office.

DOMINIQUE
Thanks, Kiki... let's get started ...shall we?  I gave you a sneak peak of my favorite shoe organizer in our opening scene.  This is our first tip.

1. EASY SHOE ORGANIZER - SHOE ORGANIZATION IDEAS

You can simply use modestly priced iKea bookcases and attach them, or just put them side-by-side.  You can even get fancy and add crown molding and/or a glass door if you're handy with power tools.  Or you can whip up a batch of brownies and bribe your favorite handy person.  Here it is again:

(Shoe Daydreams)

I have to give a shout out and big thanks to Amanda Milton.  These first two ideas came from her Pinterest Boards.  She has a great eye for design.

2.  HOSPITALITY (POT) PEG BOARD DISPLAY BOARD - KITCHEN ORGANIZATION PRODUCTS - From Julia Child's Own Kitchen

That's right, take a page from Julia Child's kitchen and install a reasonbly priced peg board on a blank kitchen wall and place your pots and other kitchen gadgets on it.

In Julia's kitchen, every cooking apparatus was displayed for easy access and visual appeal.  Definitely, the polar opposite of today's sleek kitchens where everything is concealed behind a door, cabinet or drawer.

If you love the look of kitchen apparatus and love being able to grab things fast, then this might work for you.  And it shouldn't take long to put up.

3.  HOME OFFICE REFORM - METAL BOXES, WIRE BASKETS AND LUCITE CONTAINERS ... OH MY!

You can have a designer workspace too with a little DIY elbow grease and plenty of spray paint.

I stopped by Apartmenttherapy.com and was so glad I did.  This converted garage and home office of Interior Designer Rosa Beltran was my inspiration.

WORK TABLE/CONFERENCE TABLE

Rosa designed her conference/work table, but you could simply get a counter high table from iKea, Target, Walmart or Home Depot and add casters and spray paint Overstock.com stools.

RE-UPHOLSTER A DESK CHAIR

Re-upholster a desk chair with vintage fabric, that's if you're handy with a sewing machine. Or commence to baking a treat and offer it as pay to someone who can.

HOME OFFICE ORGANIZATION - CHECK LIST

Metal storage boxes and wire basket shelving.
Overstock metal stools
Your own custom design conference table
Re-upholstered desk chairs

I literally drooled when I saw these containers.

IKEA magazine boxes (painted white w/ DIY labels)
IKEA pen cups
The Container Store's lucite desk storage boxes and tape dispenser, lacquer boxes.

ORGANIZATION IN PROGRESS

You can have a ball with this, selecting a color scheme or mix and match.  You can do it over this weekend.  Hey, it'll still be the first of the year.  You'll be just a month into it.  Or just do one section now, and another section of your home office later.  Your "Organization in Progress."
